In 1534, Yazidi leader Hussein Beg Dasini ruled what is today’s northern Iraq, marking one of the few times non-Muslims ruling a region populated mostly by Muslims who were chiefly in dispute with Yazidis. Dasini was given the rule by the order of Suleiman the Magnificent.

The Yazidis enjoyed a stable period of peace during his rule, who would usually get attacked by the Kurdish tribes in the Kurdish region of Soran. https://t.co/z4Ncux03Br
